🧠 What this is?

This exercise teaches your dog that returning to you on cue is a positive thing.

In this first session we are going to teach our dog what their recall cue is.

What you need

• Treats

• A dog in the right frame of mind to train

• A calm environment - Start in the house, move to the garden, then take to to quite places out on a walk

• A longline for training away from the home

🐾 What to do

• Wait for your dog to check in

• Say your recall cue

• Turn and walk away from your dog

• Pop a treat on the ground at your feet

• Repeat
  

👀 What you’ll start to see

• Your dog will start orientating towards you and looking on the ground as they get to you as soon as you say your recall cue.
